Training up close: our trainees start the new year with motivation

Our trainees started the new year full of energy with a creative New Year's challenge.

The task:  Build a stool from scratch – using craftsmanship, your own ideas and a lot of dedication.

Two trainees from different years (1st and 2nd year) took on this exciting challenge. Each of them pursued an individual approach and set their own priorities. The focus was not only on the finished piece, but above all on initiative, problem-solving skills and practical learning.

Each step of the process – from scoring to sawing, lubricating and sanding to varnishing – brought new challenges. Our young talents mastered these with confidence, found creative solutions and developed their stools step by step into high-quality unique pieces.
The result is impressive: two stools based on the same plan – and yet they are uni que. At first glance, the stools look similar, but the differences become apparent in the execution. Each apprentice used their existing knowledge and personal taste in the workmanship – for example, in the choice and implementation of the surface finish – and gave the workpiece its own unique touch.

A special highlight: each apprentice is allowed to take their workpiece home with them. This means that the stool is not only a practical piece of furniture, but also a lasting symbol of a successful project and personal achievement.

With practical projects like this, we promote talent, strengthen team spirit and create space for creative solutions. In this way, we invest specifically in the skilled workers of tomorrow and make training in the skilled trades exciting and varied.
